Your plan from last year
may not be your strongest fit now.

Plans update their benefits, costs, and networks every year. A review takes one conversation and could make a real difference in what you pay and what you get.

Four reasons to review your plan every year.

Most people stay on the same plan year after year. That's understandable. But it often means leaving real benefits and real savings on the table.

๐Ÿ’ฐ

Your premium or copays may have changed

Carriers adjust costs annually. What you are paying now may be higher than comparable plans available in your area.

โž•

New benefits may be available

Grocery allowances, dental coverage, and OTC credits have expanded significantly. Your current plan may not include them.

๐Ÿ’Š

Your prescriptions may be covered better elsewhere

Drug formularies change every year. Another plan may cover your medications at a lower tier and lower cost.

๐Ÿฅ

Your doctors may have left the network

Provider networks change. It is worth confirming your doctors are still in network before assuming nothing has changed.

Questions to ask yourself before renewal

  • ?
Have your prescriptions or dosages changed this year?
  • ?
Have you added any new doctors or specialists?
  • ?
Did you receive a notice that your plan's costs are going up?
  • ?
Are you currently getting dental, vision, or grocery benefits?
  • ?
Did you read this year's Annual Notice of Change?

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions I hear from Medicare beneficiaries across Southern Utah every day.

The main window is the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 through December 7. If you're in a Medicare Advantage plan, you have a second chance January 1 through March 31. Certain life events like moving or losing other coverage may also qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period outside these windows. Not sure which applies to you? Call me and we'll figure it out.
Not necessarily, but it's critical to verify before making any change. Before I recommend a new plan, I always check that your current doctors and specialists are in network. The last thing I want is for you to switch and then find out your primary care doctor isn't covered.
No. My services are at no cost to you. I'm paid by the insurance carriers, not by you, so there is never a fee for a review or consultation, regardless of whether you decide to make any changes at all.
Yes, and here's why: your plan may have changed even if you didn't. Premiums, copays, drug formularies, and provider networks are all updated annually. A 20-minute conversation once a year is all it takes to confirm you're still in the right place, or catch something before it costs you.
